A California man has been arrested and charged in the murder of a woman and her 8-year-old daughter, authorities reported.
Jia Jia, 44, and her young daughter, Ruby Meng, were found stabbed to death inside their Rancho Cucamonga home on March 7.
On April 13, San Bernardino County Sheriffs pulled over Jacob Alan Wright, 19, on a traffic violation, during which he was identified as a suspect in the double murder. He was arrested on the spot. (San Bernardino County Sheriff s Department)
Detectives immediately secured a search warrant for Wright’s home and conducted a thorough interview, after which he was booked on charges of murder and attempted murder.
A Yucca Valley man was arrested early Sunday morning, March 28, accused of felony drunk driving. Christopher Carr, 35, was stopped about 1:30 a.m. near El Reposo Street and Highway 62 for allegedly driving under the influence. Because he had three previous DUI convictions in Riverside County, Christopher Carr was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, and was released on a $100,000 bail bond.

A Las Vegas man stopped for speeding in Joshua Tree was arrested after he was found with drugs and a weapon. About 1:40 a.m. Saturday (March 27), a California Highway Patrol officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 62 near Rotary Way for speeding and having a suspended driver’s license. Inside the vehicle was Daniel Santos, 35. During a search of the vehicle, the officer found methamphetamine and a weapon. Daniel Santos was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of methamphetamine, transportation of meth for sales, speeding, and driving with a suspended license. Santos was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $55,000.
