Practices are beginning for several teams in the Northeast and West this week, and some teams have already started to play meaningful games in those regions. For the first time in a long time, lacrosse is back across the entire country.
That will lead to shakeups in the future, but for now, the top of Nike / US Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Top 25 remains largely unchanged. The only notable change is that St. Paul’s (Md.) has entered the top 10 at No. 9 after a 2-0 week. St. Paul’s plays McDonogh on Wednesday in a key in-state matchup.

Two years of volunteering at the Community Resource Center in Encinitas helped inspire a business idea by a Canyon Crest Academy student for a school project.
“A bunch of people would come in but they wouldn’t be wearing their masks because they would say that they lost it in the car or they forgot it at home or they just dropped it,” said Wyatt Beal, a junior at CCA. “And that made me really think that if I could solve this problem, that would be a great business plan for my project that I had to come up with, and that’s why I decided to create MOAR.”

For a business class project, Canyon Crest Academy senior Danny Applebaum and a group of classmates launched a T-shirt company that commemorates the pandemic-restricted school year students have had to endure.
“It’s dedicated to high schoolers, specifically to seniors,” Danny said of the company, which is called SenioriTees. “I, myself, am a senior and I’ve noticed personally that the year was cut short and I missed out on a lot of the class experiences that a senior would expect.”
The company’s mission statement is to “design a plethora of styles to cater to the evolving life of high school seniors in an unprecedented year.” The T-shirts have sayings such as “prom? Never heard of it” and “virtually anything is possible,” referring to the missed experiences and new style of learning that high school seniors have adapted to because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
