Cleveland Photo Fest announces 2021 Photothon details

CLEVELAND, Ohio It’s no time to be camera shy. The Cleveland Photo Fest has announced Photothon 2021, an upcoming photography exhibition that’s open for submissions.
The nonprofit organization currently has three exhibitions that are open for entries until March 3: “Furtography: Another Show for the Dogs,” “Deja Nude: Not Another Nude Show” and “Dear Diary: Show Us Your Secrets.”
Details about each exhibition, including rules for submission, can be found at clevelandphotofest.org/photothon.
Accepted photographs will be on display from May 1-June 30 at the Bostwick Design Art Initiative. At that time, the space will also feature one other exhibition: “I Identify As,” a Cleveland project where 30 Black photographers and 30 white photographers created portraits of one another. Bostwick Design Art Initiative is located at 2729 Prospect Ave., Cleveland.

PARMA, Ohio In an effort to unpack its residents last month voting down the district’s strategic consolidation-related tax increase, earlier this week Parma City Schools held a bond issue town hall meeting.
“The purpose was to reach out to our folks in the community and try to get an understanding of the reasons why the bond issue failed,” Parma City Schools Superintendent Charles Smialek said. “We had 33 participants, which I thought was really a strong showing.
