The coalition, made up of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative (OOC), Ohio Federation of Teachers (OFT), Policy Matters Ohio and the Ohio Education Association (OEA) is calling on state lawmakers to pass the Fair School Funding Plan (FSFP), which the Ohio House of Representatives included in their version of the 2022-23 state budget passed earlier this month. That’s what Parma City Schools Superintendent Charles Smialek is telling his district about his recent plan of returning to traditional five-day, all-in instruction on April 8. “We always looked at the coming back in the fourth quarter, but as we got more information on how vaccinations affect quarantining we decided we could really move that up to March 22,” Smialek said. “Last week, we learned that actually if you’re fully vaccinated and exposed you only have to quarantine within a two-week window.
