School districts delay start, close after UDOT snow warning © Provided by KUTV Salt Lake City School district along the Wasatch Front are monitoring weather conditions and officials will decide whether to change schedules in anticipation of potentially hazardous road conditions on Wednesday morning.  At least one school district has already decided. The Canyons School District will have a remote learning day on Wednesday, spokesman Jeff Haney told 2News in an email.  The decision to pivot to online learning comes after Utah transportation officials recommended that the public refrain from traveling on Utah roads until at least 10 a.m., Haney stated.

So far, the Canyons School District has announced that it will conduct remote learning only. An email sent to parents and guardians read: Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021 will be a remote-learning day for all students because of expected heavy snow and dangerous road conditions. CSD is heeding the recommendation of Utah transportation officials to avoid traveling on roads Wednesday morning.
