K Joseph Joe Triplett

Everett K. Joseph “Joe” Triplett, 89, of Upper Snake Spring Road, Everett, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Homewood at Martinsburg. He was born on Feb. 24, 1932, in Bedford, a son of the late Harper B. and Orpha L. (Wareham) Triplett. On June 28, 1953, he was united in marriage to Janet A. (Grimes) Triplett. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Kenneth A. Triplett, in 1932. Joe is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Richard, Robert, James, Greg, who was looked at as a brother, Betty, Charlotte, Nancy, Beverly and Janie. He was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren and attended the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren.

(BIS PHOTO/KRISTAAN INGRAHAM) NASSAU, BAHAMAS The Ministry of Education (MOE) is nearing its goal of acquiring sufficient devices for the 48,000 students enrolled in the public school system, thanks to continued donations from corporate sponsors. The latest donor was a public-private partnership (PPP) organized by Leno Trust, the Myers Group and the Antique Auto Club of The Bahamas that donated tablets and approximately $16,000 to the MOE during a ceremony yesterday at the ministry’s headquarters.

Obituary for George O Baughman

The McDonough County Voice George O. Baughman, 82 of Lewistown, passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Graham Hospital. He was born on July 14, 1938 in Fulton County to Herbert and Neva (Smith) Baughman. George was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles. Surviving is his cousin and caregiver, Kathryn (Dennis) Turner of Lewistown and several other cousins. George earned a bachelor of science degree in 1960, and a master of science degree in 1967. He went on to teach business education and computer science at Lewistown High School for 33 years. George also taught accounting and computer science courses at Spoon River College in the evenings, and took additional coursework at Western and John Wood Community College. He also worked at an accounting firm and owned and formerly managed a farm.

Dec 11, 2020 John E. Hand, 69, of Marshalltown passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday, December 4, 2020. In accordance with John’s wishes, cremation rites have been given and no service is planned at this time. A family led celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family for a later designation; in his memory, do something nice for someone. John was born on March 25, 1951, in Ames, IA, the son of Eldin and Loretta (Monson) Hand. He grew up in Ames and graduated from Ames High School in 1969. In 1970, John accepted employment as an outside line repairman for Northwestern Bell in Marshalltown, retiring from Century Link in 2008 after 38 years of continuous service with the company. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. On April 29, 1972, he was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Leaton in Marshalltown.
