Early voting for city council election begins April 19

A special election for the Ward 3 Council position has been announced. Early Voting will be held at the Brown County Elections Office, located at 613 N. Fisk Avenue, on April 19-23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 26-27, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Election Day Voting will take place on May 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters who are 65 and older, disabled or are going to be out of town, must re-apply for a ballot by mail every year. Please call the Elections Office: (325) 646-4333 for an application. The candidates running for the Council seat are Linda Heitman and Melody Nowowiejski. BANGS: Bangs Community Center located at 406 Spencer Drive BROWNWOOD: Brown County Elections Office located at 613 N. Fish Street, Suite 200 Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, May 1 Early voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 19-23 and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 26-27, with all early votes being cast at the Brown County Elections Office. In Brownwood, Melody Nowowiejski and Linda Heitman are running to replace Ward 3 City Council member Larry Mathis, who resigned as he is moving out of town. In Bangs, Rick Phelps is running unopposed for mayor while four individuals are running for two seats on the Bangs City Council – incumbents Waymond Sheppard and Danny Marney, along with Greg Flores and Greggory Cassady.
