A total of 130 ballots cast in early voting

Election voting concluded Tuesday in the May 1 Brownwood City Council and Bangs City Council and Mayoral elections. A total of 130 ballots were cast – 102 in the Brownwood election and 28 in the Bangs election. Election day is Saturday, May 1 with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voting in Bangs will take place at the Bangs Community Center located at 406 Spencer Drive. Voting in Brownwood will take place at the Brown County Elections Office located at 613 N. Fish Street, Suite 200 In Brownwood, Melody Nowowiejski and Linda Heitman are running to replace Ward 3 City Council member Larry Mathis, who resigned as he is moving out of town.

Early voting in the Brownwood City Council Ward 3 election began Monday as candidates Melody Nowowiejski and Linda Heitman are vying for the position being vacated by Larry Mathis, who is moving from Brownwood to the Austin area.
