The two victims were between the ages of 80 and 84, according to the BCPH report for Dec. 30. The agency also reported seven new laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, continuing a stretch of single-digit increases at the end of the month. The county recorded nine new cases on Dec. 27, four on Dec. 28, and 6 on Dec. 29. They bring the total number of confirmed cases in Brown County to 1,999. Sixty-two active cases in isolation are reported. There have been 32 COVID-19 related deaths, 21 in long-term care facilities in Brown County since the pandemic began.

The figure is a discrepancy of one with the State Department of Health, which reported 1,982 cases on Sunday. The number is 24 more cases than Brown County Public Health posted in it’s Dec. 24 update. Brown County reported 1,972 cases on Saturday, Dec. 26, an increase of 16, in addition to the nine on Sunday. Newly-reported case details from the Minnesota DPH Dec. 27 included nine new Brown County cases, three new cases in Cottonwood County, eight in McLeod County, 11 new cases and four probable cases in Nicollet County, three new Redwood County cases, seven new and one probable case in Renville County, two new cases and one probable case in Sibley County.

Public Health receives Moderna vaccine doses Dec 24, 2020 BROWN COUNTY COVID-19 has claimed the life of another Brown County resident, a person in their late 60s, according to Brown County Public Health. The death was reported Wednesday, along with 11 new laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19, ranging in age from under 4 to in their 60s. That brings the total number of confirmed cases 1,944, with 98 active cases in isolation, 1,819 recovered cases, according to the Dec. 23 situation update. Brown County Public Health received limited doses of the Moderna vaccine, and will begin the process of distributing it and vaccinating individuals according to the recommended distribution plan. It is focusing on healthcare workers, long term care staff, and residents, emergency response services, and public health staff.

fbusch@nujournal.com BROWN COUNTY The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reported 36 new probable COVID-19 cases in Brown County on Dec. 18. No new deaths were reported in Brown County Friday, leaving the total number of COVID-19 related deaths at 26. There have been 1,883 total cases in Brown County. On Dec. 17, there were 19 new, laboratory-confirmed cases and two probable cases ranging in age from under the age of four to people in their 90s. In an effort to provide more data, Brown County Public Health will post a weekly dashboard beginning Monday, Dec. 21. The dashboard will include more data and information regarding current COVID-19 numbers.
