Kuala Lumpur: Birthday wishes have been pouring in on social media for Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pictured), with prayers that he will stay strong and persistent in the fight against Covid-19 in the country.

PUTRAJAYA: A Covid-19 outbreak at an education centre in Hulu Langat, Selangor has resulted in the discovery of 50 positive cases under the cluster.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the cluster involves students of an educational centre located at Jalan Langat Ceria 4, Taman Langat Ceria in Hulu Langat.
“The cluster’s index case was tested for Covid-19 after developing symptoms, and was declared positive on April 18, he said.
“Since then, 144 individuals have been screened, and 50 confirmed cases have been found under this cluster, ” added Dr Noor Hisham in his daily Covid-19 updates.
The cluster is among 11 new ones identified by the Health Ministry on Wednesday (April 21).
PUTRAJAYA: The recent rise in Malaysia’s Covid-19 daily figures is reflective of the global pandemic situation, said the Health Ministry.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said countries such as the United States and India as well as neighbouring nations Indonesia and Thailand are all going through a similar increasing trend.
“The United States is the worst affected with over 32 million cases and 531,542 deaths. India is the second highest with 15 million cases, with an increase of 96,982 new infections.
“Earlier in the year, India only recorded about 20,000 new cases a day but the figures have gone up since April.
