Covid-19: Number of patients in intensive care reaches all-time high

This as Malaysia recorded 3,680 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Jan 27). The total number of confirmed cases in the country is now up to 194,114. In the same 24-hour span, seven people had died to Covid-19 in the country, bringing the death toll to 707. The country also discharged 1,858 patients, bringing the number of Covid-19 recoveries in the country to 151,018. There are currently 42,389 active Covid-19 cases being treated at the country s hospitals and quarantine centres. In a statement, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said six of the cases were imported infections. Johor recorded the highest number of new cases at 1,069, followed by Selangor (822 cases), Kuala Lumpur (698) and Sabah (295).

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27 The Ministry of Health reported today that 3,680 new Covid-19 cases were discovered today, with Johor registering the highest number of new cases at 1,069 compared to other states. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah added that seven more deaths were also recorded today, bringing the total number of deaths from Covid-19 in Malaysia to 707. “The number of Covid-19 patients admitted in the ICU continues to rise, with 314 admissions. 122 out of them require ventilators to help them breathe,” he said.
