Airasia farm & Agriculture Ministry intent on helping Malaysian farmers
Both AirAsia Group Bhd’s business-to-business e-commerce platform ‘airasia farm’, and Malaysia’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI) are intent on increasing farmers’ incomes by promoting and selling their products.
AirAsia Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said the first shipment of Perlis’ Harumanis mangoes from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 today was made possible through the cooperation between MAFI and airasia farm.
Fernandes said AirAsia would also promote Harumanis mangoes through its digital assets and physical restaurant, Santan, and promote the product continuously in the Asian region once the border is fully open. Through the smart partnership with MAFI, along with other relevant authorities, airasia farm was also looking into promoting other fruits such as dragon fruit and pineapple, he added.

KUALA LUMPUR: From Perlis to Sabah, half a tonne of Harumanis mangoes have jetted off to the Land Below the Wind on an AirAsia flight so that Sabahans may get their hands on the popular seasonal fruit.
Airasia farm, now an official distributor of Harumanis through cooperation with the Agriculture and Food Industries Ministry, sent the first shipment of the fruits to Sabah from KLIA2 on Friday (April 30) morning.
An AirAsia Group business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce platform, airasia farm was launched in June last year under the name OURFARM to enable farmers to connect directly to businesses.

KUALA LUMPUR (April 23): AirAsia Bhd has expanded its airasia super app to provide financial products and services under the “airasia money” banner, beginning with a partnership with financial comparison platform RinggitPlus.
Through its partnership with the platform, airasia money currently provides credit card and loan application services. The financial marketplace will also allow users to obtain the best personal finance news, information, guidance and make the best choices for their immediate needs.
Today’s launch of airasia money, said AirAsia Group Bhd chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, marks the final piece of the puzzle for the airasia super app, a concept that was aggressively pushed since October 2020.
