One million saplings planted in Mansehra so far

MANSEHRA: The district administration has planted around one million saplings across Mansehra during the ongoing tree plantation drive launched here earlier this month.
“We have adopted a multipronged strategy to achieve our target and so far planted around a million trees across the district,” Qasim Ali Khan, the deputy commissioner, told reporters after planting a sapling at the District Food Controller’s offices here on Monday.
He said that district administration had divided the ongoing tree plantation drive into the five major components based on the different ideas to involve schoolchildren, non-governmental organisations, women and even tourists coming to enjoy the natural beauty here.
Dubai: Indian expat Ummer Koya has been stuck back home since June 18. When he completed six months outside the UAE on December 18, Ummer was worried about not getting approval to return. The news that expats like him, who have been outside for more than 180 days, can return until March 31, provided they have valid visa and approval to return, gave big relief to Ummer. Earlier, under normal circumstances, UAE residence visa holders were required to enter the UAE within six months or 180 days to ensure the validity of their visas if they travelled abroad.

Gulf News from his hometown in Kerala, the 51-year-old boat driver said on Wednesday: “I am very happy to know there is still scope for me to get the approval to return till March 31. My family is also happy to know this.”
