WAYNE, NJ A Wayne man is charged with child abuse and neglect after an investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor s Office Special Victims Unit and the Wayne Police Department.
The charges and arrest stem from an instance in May 2020 when an unresponsive 4-week-old was taken to St. Joseph s University Medical Center. At the hospital, doctors discovered external and internal injuries on the child, the prosecutor said.
The investigation led to the arrest of Slobodan Todoric, 30, of Wayne, who was released on pretrial monitoring after a court appearance Tuesday. He is charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child, in addition to the charges above.

Terrance Nelson, 29, was arrested without incident at his mother’s home at 18 Virginia Ave. by homicide unit detectives and Jersey City police just after 8 a.m. today, Suarez said in a statement.
On Thursday, just before 1 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police and Fire Departments responded on a call of a disturbance at 18 Virginia Ave. Responding units found a female victim in the building’s first floor in critical condition.
The victim, later identified as Jacqueline Nelson, 60, was transported to the Jersey City
