LAHORE: The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) provincial offices are all set to start a forensic audit of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) headquarters in Lahore from May 3.
“The forensic audit is being launched in light of the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The first audit was launched last year on the orders of the federal government,” said an ETPB official while talking to Dawn on Thursday.
The Auditor General’s (Functions, Powers and Terms and Conditions of Service) Ordinance, 2001 read with articles 169 to 171 of the Constitution of Pakistan provides for the auditor general of Pakistan with the mandate to audit the accounts of the federal government and any authority or body established by or under control of the federal government.

LAHORE: Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) on Thursday approved awarding development works contract of Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Sheikhurapura with a downwards revised cost of Rs8.49 billion.
The decisions were made in the 148th meeting of the PIEDMC board of directors, chaired by Syed Nabil Hashmi. The board approved the minutes of the 147th board meeting and reviewed implementation of previous decisions.
PIEDMC Chairman Syed Nabil Hashmi directed the concerned officers to expedite the development work related to the managed industrial estates especially Quaid-e-Azam Business Park.
The board of directors on the recommendations of the Procurement Committee approved Rs2.9 million for third party validation of Quaid e Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur and Rs11.8 million for CCTV surveillance system operations and maintenance. It also approved Rs35.7 million for access road from National Highway to Bahawalpur Industrial Estate,

In line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, all resources are being utilised for industrial development and elimination of unemployment in Pakistan, said Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal.
He was chairing a meeting to review progress on development work at industrial estates under the Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) on Friday.
The minister directed the authorities concerned to draft a comprehensive strategy for the construction of residential buildings for workers at the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park, Sheikhupura and provide facilities to the IT sector in the multipurpose business centre.
