Figures released by Bahrain’s e-Government and Information Authority reaffirmed that trade with Saudi Arabia grew in Q1 2021, amounted to $789 million and accounted for almost half of all the kingdom’s trade with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.
Flow of trade between Manama and Riyadh depends largely on the King Fahd Causeway, where the adoption of new technology in the field of logistics services accelerated processing for the business of multinational companies based in Bahrain.
“Bahrain is moving forward with strengthening its cooperation with Saudi Arabia,” Executive Director of Bahrain’s Economic Development Board (EDB) Ali Al Mudaifa told Asharq Al-Awsat.

Special Envoy for Climate Affairs and CEO of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina participated in the UAE Regional Dialogue for Climate Action.
The special envoy praised the efforts made by the UAE to unifying international visions and face climate change.
SCE CEO noted the importance of such meetings that enhance regional and international cooperation to accelerate the pace of climate action and pave the way towards optimal international readiness for the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26).
He pointed out that the institutional investment in the clean energy market in Bahrain is continuously developing despite the limited geographical area of the Kingdom.

Bahrain is eyeing rapid growth to become one of the top filers of international patents and transform them into projects capable of boosting the job market. The development came as the Kingdom yesterday launched a “Technology Transfer” project to link the patent filing system of the Kingdom to the academic, production and services sector in the Kingdom. The University of Bahrain in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and the Commercial Law Development Programme (CLDP), funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative of the US Department of State, has launched the project.

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Chief Executive Muhammad Yusef Al Banfalah paid an inspection visit to the aviation fuel depot complex at Bahrain International Airport, with the aim of determining its readiness and the ongoing preparations to start operating soon.
Upon completion, the complex will help cement the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as a prominent and advanced hub for aviation fuel supply services in the region and will contribute to advancing sustainable economic growth in the country in line with the goals of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
During the visit, the Executive Director of the project and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Airport Jet Fuel Company, Engineer Abdul Majeed Al Qassab, explained the latest developments in the project and the safety measures that are strictly applied to ensure that the complex adheres to the highest international standards.

A virtual forum to highlight the winning research papers of the third edition of the King Hamad Prize for Agricultural Development was held under the patronage of Shaikha Maram bint Isa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development.
The King Hamad Prize was launched by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King, Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the National Initiative for the Development of Agricultural Sector, as an initiative to create a competitive environment among agricultural projects’ owners, farmers and researchers to advance the sector.
