JICA gives recommendations on development of Da Nang s port | Business

In their end-of-term report, JICA experts identified the urban planning for the area surrounding Lien Chieu Port, a transport connectivity plan, a plan to find suitable locations for terminals, the feasibility of a public-private partnership, a model for effective management and operation of this port, and an appropriate investment plan harmonising interests of both State and private sector.

Photo: Dong Ha / Tuoi Tre Police in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, about 100km from Ho Chi Minh City, on Monday inaugurated a US$3.5 million smart camera system for traffic surveillance on the local section of National Highway No. 51. The system consists of 89 cameras placed along National Highway No. 51, from Ba Ria – Vung Tau’s Phu My Town to the entrance of Vung Tau City. Images from the system will be sent to a server located at the headquarters of the municipal police department, where officers can monitor traffic in real time via a board of screens.

Among the newly added terminals, four are part of Vung Tau Seaport in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau, according to the list recently released by the Ministry of Transport. The seaports of Hai Phong, Khanh Hoa, Dong Nai, and HCM City have one new terminal each. At present, some seaport areas accommodating many terminals include Hai Phong (50 terminals); Vung Tau (46); Ho Chi Minh City (42); Can Tho (21); Dong Nai (18); Khanh Hoa (16); Quang Ninh (13); Da Nang (eight); Nghi Son, Nghe An, and Dung Quat (seven each); and Ha Tinh and Binh Thuan (six each).

The NA passed a resolution appointing Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc as the state president, and another resolution on assigning Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Central Organisation Commission, to be the prime minister, both for the 2021-2025 tenure. After the ballot, the new leaders took the oath of office, vowing to “be completely faithful to the country, people, and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam”.
