PAL organises Faiz Ahmed Faiz National Literary seminar

Islamabad:Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) Monday organised ‘Faiz Ahmed Faiz National Literary’ seminar on the occasion of 110th birth anniversary of Urdu legendary poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
Speaking on the occasion Federal Minister for Professional Training and National Heritage and Culture Shafqat Mahmood said although Faiz Ahmed Faiz was not physically present with us today but his every poem and every word was the beating of our heart.
He said that Faiz Ahmed Faiz spent his entire life in struggle and truly expressed the aspirations of his people.

Hailed as one of the greatest, most inspiring and eloquent poets of South Asia, yesterday (Feb 13th) marked the 110th birth anniversary of the iconic revolutionary poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
Glowing tributes were paid to his literary work by scholars and the media on the day.
Faiz was a Pakistani leftist poet and author. Not only was he one of the most celebrated writers of the Urdu language, but among his numerous accolades, Faiz was also nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature and won the Lenin Peace Prize.
Hindko Academy work for KP languages promotion acknowledged

PESHAWAR: Secretary Higher Education Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Daud Khan, on Monday praised the Gandhara Hindko Board and the Gandhara Hindko Academy for the work both the literary bodies were carrying out for the promotion Hindko and other Khyber Pakhtunkhwa languages.
The senior official expressed these views while talking to a five-member joint delegation of the board and academy which called on him.The delegation comprised of Prof Dr Adnan Gul, senior-vice-chairman, Mohammad Ziauddin, general secretary, Naseem Mohyuddin, deputy director of admin and accounts, Ali Awais Khayal, research associate, and Mohammad Nauman Qayyum, communication officer.

Islamabad:Intezar Hussain was praised as a trend-setting novelist, critic, writer, researcher and intellectual during a national literary seminar organised by the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the noted member of Pakistani literati.
The event was presided over by Prof. Fateh Mohammad Malik and attended by poet Kishwar Naheed as a special guest. PAL chairman Dr. Yousuf Khushk gave the introductory speech. Dr. Inam-ul-Haq Javed, Mohammad Hameed Shahid, Prof. Dr. Sofia Yousaf, Dr. Salahuddin Darwish, Dr. Farid Hussaini and Dr. Saira Alvi and Farida Hafeez spoke on the occasion.
