Initially, the Ehsaas Food Trucks are being operated in Islamabad and Rawalpindi and at the later stage, the Koi Bhooka Na Soye programme will be further expanded to other parts of the Country. Over 619,601 provided services in panagahs Islamabad March 4, 2021 Islamabad: Some 619,601 unprivileged persons including passengers and homeless have so far benefited in last six months from various panagahs (shelter homes) set up in various cities of the country to serve the marooned persons, said official sources. According to latest data released by Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), as many as 67,206 persons were provided accommodation, 552,395 meals in various Panahgahs (shelter homes) from September 1, 2020 to date. In February, 2021 some 11,834 marooned persons were provided shelter, some 10,893 served meal and 941 provided accommodation facility during the entire month. In shelter homes located at Islamabad Capital Territory areas (ICT), total beneficiaries were 558,978, meal was provided to 493,097 and shelter to 65,881 persons.

Food & shelter in Karachi s Surjani Town - Pakistan

Fahim Siddiqi / White Star ON Thursday, a little after sunset, there is something more to add to routine business and the customary congestion at Surjani Town’s Sector 8 as dozens of men, women and children are lined up outside a double-storey building along the main service lane waiting for their turn to enter the recently renovated structure while a few labourers offload cauldrons of cooked food from a charity service van. People entering the building are asked to wear face mask and those who do not have it are offered one. This is Panahgah first of its kind in the metropolis as part of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s initiative after more than 100 such centres have already been established in different parts of the country offering free food and shelter to the less privileged segment of society.
