Sarwar says ready to face accountability in R3 project

TAXILA: Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan said here on Sunday that Rawalpindi Ring Road (R3) project would not be politicised at any cost and ready to face any kind of investigations and accountability in this regard to clear him.
He said this while talking to media at his residence in Pind Nowsheri Town, Tehsil Taxila. He said there was no rift or grouping in Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) and it was united under the leadership of Imran Khan, but some members of opposition parties were trying to flourish negative propaganda of grouping in PTI for their vested interest. Ghulam Sarwar claimed that he and his family members had neither acquired nor sold any piece of land on both sides of the proposed route of the Ring Road. “We neither had any land in the past nor acquired any land currently,” he said.

Slamming the federal government for the gross domestic product (GDP) figure, leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday termed it unrealistic, saying that the Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) government had pushed 20 million people into poverty and Prime Minister Imran Khan had borrowed in just three years a half amount of the total loan borrowed by the country over a period of 70 years.
Addressing a press conference at the Muslim League House Karachi, former federal finance minister Miftah Ismail and former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair alleged that Imran Khan had been running the country only to benefit his close friends.
Haleem Adil Sheikh accuses Sindh govt of political victimisation

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) and Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh on Wednesday alleged he was booked under terrorism charges over highlighting the corruption of PPP’s Sindh government, ARY News reported.
Haleem Adil Sheikh appeared before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi in two cases registered against him during the PS-88 Malir by-poll and demolition of his farmhouse.
The hearing was adjourned until June 19 as production sought time for providing copies of the cases. Talking to journalists, the PTI leader said he is appearing before courts on the charges, he never committed.
