Ventilator occupancy ratio slightly drops in city - Newspaper

LAHORE: The ventilators’ occupancy ratio amidst the third wave of Covid in the provincial capital dropped from 95pc to 85.4pc here on Friday. However, the city witnessed another sharp increase of infectivity rate of the virus that was reported 28 per cent during the last 24 hours. According to the official figures released on Friday, the virus claimed lives of 83 more critical patients in Punjab. Thirty people lost their lives in Lahore. The Covid death toll reached 8,410 in Punjab. The data further showed that the total number of the infections in Punjab reached 301,114 after 2,296 more people tested positive for the virus. Of the new infections, 1,086 were recorded in Lahore where the number of positive cases reached 159,175.
