RAWALPINDI: A man and woman were injured after being shot by car-lifters who were trying to escape in a stolen vehicle in New Town area on Sunday.
The suspects were being chased by owners of the car. It all started in the morning when some burglars broke into a house in the cantonment but the burglary attempt was foiled by the family.
After the suspects escaped from the cantonment, they tried to snatch a vehicle on Sixth Road and opened fire while escaping, resulting in injuries to a woman and a man who were passing by.
When the police arrived at the scene, the car-lifters managed to escape towards Islamabad. The Dolphin Force squad was not able to catch them and two officials received injuries during the chase after their motorcycle slipped.
