Imran put Shahbaz on blacklist for political revenge: Marriyum

National May 8, 2021 LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has said the name of party president and opposition leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif was never on the exit control list (ECL). In a statement issued here on Friday, in response to Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry’s statement, she said Prime Minister Imran Khan added the names of his political opponents, including Shahbaz Sharif, in the blacklist to take political revenge. “Shahbaz Sharif s name has been included in the blacklist on the basis of money-laundering allegations of billions, but nothing has been proved in any court,” she added.

Ahsan Iqbal s name added to the ECL

Daily Times May 7, 2021 The federal government has added Pakistan Muslim League-N’s MNA, Ahsan Iqbal’s name on Exit Control List (ECL), local media reported. According to the sources the Ministry of Interior has put the PML-N MNA on the no-fly list. The name was added on National Accountability Bureau’s request over the Narowal Sports City Complex case. NAB filed a reference against the former federal minister in November last year. Iqbal is accused of causing losses worth billions to the national exchequer by initiating the sports complex project. As per the NAB, the sports city project conceived on the instruction of Ahsan Iqbal without any feasibility in 1999 was initially approved at a cost of Rs34.74 million by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP), which Iqbal headed.

In all, 16 nomination papers were received for the by-elections, of which one was rejected, while six candidates withdrew their nominations. The candidates include Ali Hussain Khan from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Mohammad Moazzam Sher from Pakistan Muslim League-N, Ghulam Habib Ahmed from Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, Amjad Raza, Aurangzeb, Imran Haider Khan and Mohammad Ilyas Khan as independent candidates and Hafiz Muhammad Asghar Ali from the recently banned TLP.
