Turkey to explore investment options in Sindh Work with provincial govt on urban transport, waste management KARACHI: Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu agreed to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah s request on Thursday to explore investment opportunities in different projects in Sindh and work with the Sindh government on schemes of urban transport and waste management. The foreign minister consented to the request at the inauguration of the Turkish Consulate s new building in Clifton, where the CM went down memory lane, calling to mind long-standing ties between Pakistan and Turkey. Addressing the ceremony, the CM said Pakistan s relationship with Turkey predated the Independence.

Pakistan and Turkey have underlined the need for a joint mechanism to strengthen bilateral cooperation on international matters besides calling for a combined strategy in the wake of growing Islamophobia. The understanding came at a meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in Islamabad today (Wednesday). The two foreign ministers agreed on early implementation of the decisions taken by the high level Strategic Cooperation Council in its meeting held in Islamabad. Apprising him of the unabated Indian atrocities and Indian oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Shah Mahmood Qureshi thanked for constant support of Turkey on the issue.
