PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) - Across Mississippi, people gathered outside hospitals on Sunday to offer prayers for healthcare workers and the patients they are caring for.
At Singing River Health System’s Pascagoula hospital, the congregation took turns reading scripture and singing hymns, praying for healthcare workers, patients. and the families affected by COVID-19.

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) - With Mississippi now reporting a record number of hospitalizations related to COVID-19, hospitals are being strained to their limits.
As of Dec. 21, there were 1,267 patients across the state hospitalized with a confirmed infection. Of those, 336 are in the ICU and 192 of those patients are on ventilators. . (Source: MSDH)
Singing River Health System has three hospitals on the Gulf Coast, located in Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, and Gulfport. One of those hospitals is full any only five ICU beds are available at the other two locations.
