The Rockland County Department of Health is ready to begin scheduling appointments for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 15 to go get their COVID-19 vaccine.
This week, the FDA authorized emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine in children, followed by the CDC recommending that parents go get their children vaccinated.
In response, the Department of Health announced that first dose appointments are available for children in that age group to receive their vaccine between 3 pm. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19.
Officials said that appointments are “encouraged, but not necessary (and) walk-ins are welcome and will be registered on-site.”
Westchester s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is improving by leaps and bounds County Executive George Latimer said Monday as the region is seeing a sustained slowing in the severity and spread of the coronavirus.
During a Monday afternoon briefing, Latimer lauded the latest COVID-19 numbers with active cases at 3,208 as of Saturday, a dramatic drop in the last week. He attributed the diminution of the disease to more residents receiving the vaccine, which is now open to every adult ages 16 and older in New York.
The improving pandemic situations in Rockland and Putnam counties are similar to Westchester s. We had seven weeks of decrease, we had two, 2½ weeks where things were kind of static and now they ve been decreasing over the last week and we re very encouraged by that, Latimer said of Westchester.
The Rockland County Department of Health (RCDOH) has announced that first dose appointments are available for the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, and Thursday, April 15, 2021. Eligible residents that do not have access to a computer or need assistance in scheduling their appointment are encouraged to call the Rockland County COVID Call Center at 845-238-1956 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday (except holidays).
In order to complete this vaccination series, you must be available to return for your 2nd immunization on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, or Thursday, May 13, 2021.
SPRING VALLEY - Rockland County on Thursday released vaccination data, broken down by ZIP code, that shows concerning trends: Some of the regions where COVID-19 infections have been the highest show the lowest rate of vaccinations.
County Executive Ed Day announced that the health department would bring vaccinations to communities to help ensure vaccines were more accessible.
Day stood outside the Martin Luther King Multi-purpose Center, which is serving as a vaccination hub. Vaccine clinics are being run there by the county s health department on Thursday and Friday. A total 500 people are expected to be vaccinated at the site. Appointments are booked and no walk-in slots are available.
