Chart: Cybersecurity Now a Top Corporate Priority
Majority of global IT decision makers say cybersecurity is extremely or more important now than it was pre-pandemic, according to Cisco.
When the pandemic drove workers home last year, organizations had to rethink all facets of cybersecurity their approaches, solutions, and policies so as not to disrupt operations, according to Cisco, which surveyed 3,000-plus global IT decision makers across 30 industries for its Future of Secure Remote Work report. Correspondingly, the number of cyberthreats or alerts jumped 25% or more, according to 61% of respondents.
So perhaps it stands to reason why 85% of respondents say cybersecurity is extremely important or more important than it was before the pandemic:
Organizations may face a number of potential emergency situations, such as illnesses, floods, natural disasters, power outages, and even cybercrime. Implementing a business continuity plan in the face of such disasters is essential to ensuring that the organization is capable of maintaining operations in spite of adversity.
Often, responding to such emergency situations requires massive efforts from the IT team. This is not just about keeping the network up and running, but also ensuring that data and resources are secure. In fact, the security implications of making what often amounts to a dramatic transition in a short period of time cannot be overstated.

Ingram Micro has announced the availability of Cisco’s Secure Remote Work solutions on the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace in Australia, backing the vendor’s products with channel enablement programs, which include training and support.
It is understood the new offerings are already available in the US market. However, Australia is one of the first markets outside North America to receive the Cisco suite via the distributor s cloud marketplace.
