Mardan gets Sehat Card Plus scheme

PESHAWAR:
The Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan on Tuesday launched the Sehat Card Plus scheme for the entire population of Mardan district.
During his one day visit to Mardan, he also inaugurated various developmental schemes including the Safe City Project and the administration block and gymnasium at Bacha Khan Medical Complex.
Terming the Sehat Card Plus scheme as a flagship project of the provincial government, CM Mahmood said that the project was a historical achievement towards the accomplishment of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of a welfare state.

ISLAMABAD: The capital police have requested the interior ministry to increase the number of CCTV cameras and manpower for the Safe City Project.
Talking to
Dawn, an official of the police on condition of anonymity said officials of the Islamabad Safe City Project had sought an additional 4,000 cameras in the city.
“The Safe City Project was approved a decade ago and since then the capital has expanded and its population increased sharply,” the official said, adding at present 1,905 cameras are installed on different roads, highways, important and sensitive installations and markets.

Dawn that the injured car passenger, Mujeebur Rehman, had actually named Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women Kashmala Tariq’s son Azlan in the FIR.
Her son, however, obtained bail before arrest. He appeared in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Mohammad Sohail, who granted him bail before arrest against surety bond of Rs50,000 till Feb 16.

ISLAMABAD: Four young men were killed and two others injured when a vehicle with the family of Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women Kashmala Tariq on board hit a car on Srinagar Highway late Monday night.
The police have registered a case against the ombudsperson’s son, Azlan Khan, and arrested the family’s driver. Her son, however, obtained bail before arrest. ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz Tuesday said Prime Minister Imran Khan took strict notice and condemned in strong words the incident in which a squad of vehicles jumped the light here and resulted in loss of lives.
He added that the prime minister instructed the federal and provincial governments to strictly discourage use of security and protocol squads on roads which create a culture of fear and impunity. He pointed out that a mechanism was already in place under which committees recommended bullet proof cars and security staff for vulnerable citizens.
