This is Safe Boating Awareness Week and there are many ways for boaters to make sure their vessel is equipped with the proper safety equipment. OPP sergeant Dave Hackney of the Marine Unit doesn’t suggest keeping a jerry can of gasoline on board your boat. Instead, he says ensure the motor has enough fuel for the round trip.

Even though we can’t put boats out on the water with access to marinas closed, there are a number of ways to prepare your boat for the season on dry land.
