President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday in Abuja directed the military, police and intelligence agencies to ensure safe and early release of all kidnapped victims.
The president, who gave the directive in a statement by his spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, expressed serious concern over attacks on Kaduna and Niger States, largely targeted at students.
While noting ongoing deployment of additional security personnel to all troubled areas, the president urged security outfits to “act swiftly” to rescue all school boys and girls in the affected states and ensure their safe return.

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed security agencies to ensure the safe and early release of all kidnapped victims in the country.
Buhari gave the directive after bandits stormed Bethel Baptist boarding school at Maramara Chickun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and kidnapped scores of students.
It was learnt that the gunmen forcefully gained entrance into the school by breaking part of the perimeter fence of the college before military personnel foiled the attack.
Reacting, Mr President in a statement issued by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, on Monday, described the abduction as cowardly and despicable.
He said President Buhari was concerned over attacks on Kaduna and Niger States, largely targeted at students.

Cape Town - Outraged by a the recent shocking incident of bullying which led to the death of a learner in Limpopo, learners from Portland High School in Mitchells Plain have launched their campaign against bullying at the school.
According to teachers at the school, proactive learners approached the educators with the idea to recommit and sign an anti-bullying pledge, found in the Metro South Education District’s anti-bullying policy.
Teacher Sharne Adams said: “After Lufuno Mavhunga’s bullying incident went viral, I think we were all concerned and outraged. However, our learners took it a step further and decided to take action.
