Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], March 7 (ANI): The written entrance examination for admission to the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, for January 2022 term will be conducted on June 5. The applications duly completed must reach on or before April 15. Applications received after April 15 will not be entertained, said a spokesperson, the Directorate of Defence Services Welfare, Punjab.
The spokesperson also informed that only boys are eligible to apply for the admission. Selected candidates will be given admission in class 8. The written part of the examination will consist of three papers, namely, English, Mathematics and General Knowledge. Minimum pass marks in each paper including interview will be 50 per cent, read a statement by the Punjab government.

The new recruitment will be made possible by surrendering or abolishing the existing posts. The focus is on creating relevant posts and doing away with non-essential ones, many of which have been lying vacant for years.

The 10 departments to be restructured are Labour, Technical Education and Industrial Training, Public Works Department (B&R), Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Local Government, Printing and Stationery, Sports and Youth Service Welfare, Defence Services Welfare, and Cooperation.

Kickstarting the process of recruitment to 50,000 government posts during the current fiscal, as promised by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, the Punjab Cabinet on Wednesday approved restructuring of 10 departments, thus also paving the way boosting their functional efficacy through fresh recruitments and technical upgradation.
The Cabinet meeting, held through Video Conferencing under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, decided to create new and more relevant posts where required in place of the existing non-essential or antiquated ones, many of which had been lying vacant for prolonged periods. The move also marks a major shift towards modernisation of government departments to equip them to meet the contemporary operational challenges.
