The Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation’s Guardian Angel Campaign has raised over $460,000 for a specialized surgical table at the city hospital.
The annual campaign had a goal of raising $400,000 for a new advanced surgical table with x-ray capabilities, and the goal was surpassed by $60,000, it said in a news release from the foundation.

The table will benefit thousands of patients each year, the release said.
“With successful fundraising campaigns such as this one, we may be able to purchase and install the equipment this year, quickly enhancing regional surgical services in our community,” said Cara Singh, director of surgery and women and child care at the Owen Sound hospital.

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Greensburg hoped its online Guardian Angel Appeal fundraising campaign would raise about $50,000. Donors smashed that goal, then kept giving. The campaign raised $233,950.
“There’s no way I could express how amazed I am at the success of the campaign, not because of any doubts about the generosity of the people of the diocese, but about the reality of the situation, that we went out to ask for support in the middle of a pandemic,” Monsignor Raymond E. Riffle, managing director of Catholic Charities, said in a statement.
