Kennewick Police Partnership Program Gets Fraternal Recognition
Big time props go out to KPD and their partner, Lourdes Health, who hooked up to provide a community program that is working so well, it has been featured in more than one fraternal police publication because the program works in the here and now, and it provides a model what other departments can do within their communities to adopt what s going on here, moving forward. So, what s going on here?

It s the Mobile Outreach Team partnership. The Lourdes Mobile Outreach Team has been riding shotgun with officers working the day and evening patrol shifts. The mental health counselors are employed by Lourdes Counseling Center, part of the Lourdes Health system. The program is funded by a Trueblood grant from Disability of Rights Washington and the Seattle Foundation until June 2022. Once the grant is complete, other funding resources will be necessary.
After being forced to take pretty much all of 2020 off from touring, BJ Barham of American Aquarium has been staying very active on social media. In the hopes to make reading more accessible for children, this week BJ encouraged his fans to send him books.

From a very early age, my parents instilled in me the value and importance of literature. It was a pastime that carried me through adolescence, into college and has now spilled over into my adult life. A few years ago we built this Little Free Library out here in Wendell to ensure that our neighborhood kids always have easy access to free books and learning tools. Thanks to Dolly Parton s Imagination Library and the generosity of our neighbors, we’ve been able to keep the library pretty well stocked, but the holiday season has depleted our literary cache.
Nutrition-Smoothie-Protein Shakes Shops Popping Up All Over
Have you tried the latest smoothie and tea craze? These smoothie and juice bars are popping up all over the place. I admit I have had a few here and there. I certainly like the convenience.
Just search the word nutrition+your town and you will come up with a several options as they seem to be all the rage right now. My latest venture was to Coastal Nutrition and Energy located in Newcastle, Maine. The menu is extensive and a bit daunting. You can choose from different teas and get it boosted or lite depending on the amount of caffeine and energy supplements you want. My first tea was the strawberry lemonade. I liked the flavor and especially liked that it only had 20 calories. I’ve also tried Captain American because, why not? And Triple Berry. Both good.
