PETERSBURG Virginia State Police said Wednesday they are now investigating the death of a man found shot in a wrecked car on Interstate 95 Sunday night as a homicide, but they are not saying yet if that death resulted from a shooting incident reported minutes earlier in a neighborhood adjacent to the interstate.
State Police Sgt. Dylan Davenport identified the victim as Quintell Pulliam, 35, of Petersburg. Pulliam was discovered in his vehicle southbound on I-95 around 10:45 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to Bon Secours Southside Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation s Richmond Field Office is continuing its investigation into a homicide that occurred in the City of Petersburg Sunday night, Davenport said in a VSP news release. That was the first time Pulliam s death was referred to as a homicide.

Several cartons of the Pfizer Inc.-manufactured vaccine against COVID-19 were shipped to Bon Secours Southside Regional Medical Center Monday. They were stored in one of the hospital s ultracold freezers set to -92.2 degrees Fahrenheit, and now, all that is needed are the dominant arms of the frontline healthcare workers who will be the first to get them.
Emma Swann, a spokeswoman for Bon Secours, said late Monday afternoon that while she did not have the exact number of vaccines sent to SRMC, she stressed that there is enough for everyone who wants one. The first batch of healthcare professionals are expected in line this week.
