A few weeks ago, we shared some absolutely fun, delicious and juicy news. Visit Owensboro and the City of Owensboro announced they were joining forces for Burger Week, an exciting and tasty week-long showcase of the city s signature burgers from restaurants here in Owensboro-Daviess County.
Well, this morning, we are sharing MORE exciting news. Twenty-three restaurants have signed on to join the fun and offer up a $6 burger during the week of March 2nd through the 6th. Here s a look at all the burgers and which restaurants are serving them up! These look DELICIOUS!!
The $6 Burgers Featured in Owensboro s Burger Week
Sweet Betty s Bakery is a cute shop on Evansville s Eastside, that smells amazing. The decor inside is retro and so cool. Chase and I have enjoyed cupcakes and cookies, while waiting for his haircut appointments. Now, the locally owned bakery is closing - For now.
In a Facebook post, Sweet Betty s announced that they will be closing the bakery after this Saturday, February 6, 2021. They do say that the plan is to reopen in the future, so hopefully, this is just a small setback for the bakery, that has been in business for 8 years.
Due to circumstances out of our control, we must regretfully announce that after almost 8 years in business, we will be closing the bakery this weekend. If something miraculous happens overnight and our situation changes, we will be sure to let everyone know. We will be open 11-3 Friday and Saturday if you would like to stop by one last time. The plan is for Sweet Bettys to continue on in the future, so this is just Goodbye For Now.

Bar-B-Q Fritos have recently taken on popularity all their own. Did anyone else know they have been discontinued for almost three years now? Well, I found an abundance of them right here in Owensboro.
Okay, first back to the fact they stopped making these delicious little toenail shaped bites of goodness and flavor. I am almost ashamed I didn t know they were gone. However, in my defense, I don t eat a lot of chips. Once I stopped eating meat and sandwiches they became obsolete.
Now that I think of it as a mom of many I buy the boxes of little chips and the only chips that are left behind at our house are the Chili Cheese Fritos. Does anyone really like those? We are fans of the replacement flavor Honey Barbeque Twists.
