D.G. Yuengling & Son has announced a partnership with multi-platinum-selling country music singer/songwriter Lee Brice and the start of the Pottsville brewery’s Stars & Stripes program.
Lee, who returned to Northeastern Pennsylvania to perform at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre in 2019, will serve as an official brand ambassador for Yuengling Traditional Lager. The partnership includes a variety of elements, including personal appearances and performances on behalf of the brand, fan meet and greets, special promotions to meet Lee, a chance to win custom Yuengling and Lee swag, social media sweepstakes and giveaways, in-store point of sale support, social media content, and support of the nation’s military.

Garth Brooks to Receive Kennedy Center Honors in 2021
Garth Brooks is among the slate of artists who have been chosen to receive the Kennedy Center Honors in 2021.
The Kennedy Center announced Brooks as one of the recipients of the 43rd Kennedy Center Honors on Wednesday (Jan. 13). He ll be honored in a ceremony that s been delayed until May alongside a slate of fellow honorees from across the spectrum of the arts, including artist, choreographer, and actress Debbie Allen, singer-songwriter and activist Joan Baez, violinist Midori and actor Dick Van Dyke.
“The Kennedy Center Honors serves as a moment to celebrate the remarkable artists who have spent their lives elevating the cultural history of our nation and world,” Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein says in announcing the new honorees, adding that Brooks has heightened country music’s profile like no other singer before him.
The Kennedy Center Honors is traditionally held in December. The 2020 edition was postponed to May 2021 due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Live events and filming are planned for the week of May 17-22. The Honors Gala will be recorded for broadcast on CBS as a two-hour primetime special that will air on June 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
But the pandemic will have an impact on how the event is staged, with live-filmed tributes and virtual moments to take the place of the traditional event in a packed Kennedy Center Opera House.
A statement says: “The center’s entire campus will come alive with small, in-person events and re-envisioned virtual tributes. Featuring multiple events for physically-distant audiences in locations across the Kennedy Center’s campus…Programs for each event will encompass both performances and speaking tributes for the honorees.
