BPCL opens 100-bed temporary COVID treatment centre at Kochi refinery campus
Refinery executive director Sanjay Khanna said that the BPCL will provide three oxygen generators to major hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Kannur districts.

KOCHI: A 100-bed temporary COVID treatment centre facilitated by the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) Kochi Refinery on Refinery School premises was opened on Thursday. The refinery has provided oxygen support to all the beds at the centre.
Refinery executive director Sanjay Khanna said the new facility is the first phase of the 1,500 bed COVID treatment centre with oxygen support being built by the refinery in association with the district administration.

While the price of diesel is Rs 90.11 per litre in Mumbai, petrol rates are Rs 98.65.
After reaching record heights on Friday, petrol and diesel prices have remained unchanged for the day. The petrol in Delhi remains constant at Rs 92.34 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 82.95 per litre on May 15.
According to the data from the Indian Oil Corporation, in Mumbai, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 98.65 today while diesel is Rs 90.11 per litre. In Pune, the retail price of one litre of petrol stands at Rs 98.61 while a litre of diesel costs Rs 88.70. However, the country’s capital has witnessed a price hike of Rs 1.65 per litre for petrol while the price for diesel has gone up by Rs 1.88 per litre this month.
Central government makes up for Rs 32.98 per litre of the price of petrol in Delhi and sales tax or VAT of the state government constitutes Rs 19.55.
For diesel, the central excise adds up to Rs 31.83 and VAT to Rs 10.99. Besides, the price also includes a dealer commission of a minimum Rs 2.6 per litre on petrol and Rs 2 on diesel.
Petrol and diesel prices are revised on a daily basis in line with benchmark international price and foreign exchange rates.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) will provide free oxygen, power and water to a 100-bed make-shift COVID treatment centre, which was opened on Friday at its Kochi Refinery operated school, adjacent to its premises, in Ambalamugal, Kerala. The medical facility will have 100 beds in the first phase, which will be expanded to accommodate 1,500 beds.
Oxygen will be supplied directly through a dedicated pipeline from Kochi Refinery, along with free water and power.
