U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 10 cents, or 0.2%, to $52.71 a barrel at 0229 GMT, reversing some of Tuesday`s loss. Brent crude futures climbed 11 cents, or 0.2%, to $56.02 a barrel, adding to a small gain on Tuesday. In a departure from practice, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has promoted 64 officers, including eight as executive directors, this month as the state-run oil company expedite the annual task ahead of privatisation.
The promotion is part of a list of 225 officers some of whom were also transferred according to an office note issued by the Human Resources Department on December 30, 2020. The promotions and transfers took effect from January 1.
Petrol and diesel prices have touched fresh all-time highs after a fresh 35 paise hike on Tuesday. The fresh rise in fuel prices comes after a gap of two days. On Saturday, prices of both essential fuels were hiked by 25 paise.

New Delhi | Jagran Business Desk: Petrol and Diesel prices in the national capital soared at highest levels on Tuesday after rates witnessed a maximum increase in the last one year. The Petrol price in Delhi edged past Rs 86 per litre, while the Diesel price soared above Rs 76 per litre after rates of both were hiked by 35 paise each.
