Pretoria - Lockdown regulations are here to stay for now, including that it is compulsory for everyone to wear a mask when in a public space.
Yesterday the Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, ruled against Reyno de Beer and his group Liberty Fighters Network’s application to have the extension of the National State of Disaster and its regulations declared invalid.
In handing down his judgment, Judge Norman Davis also did not entertain De Beer’s application for the court to hold Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma in contempt of court by allegedly not adhering to some of the orders made by him in June last year.

Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane has fired embattled Health MEC Sindiswa Gomba after she was charged with corruption, money laundering, fraud and contravention of the Municipal Finance Management Act in connection with the Nelson Mandela funeral scandal.
Gomba was a senior councillor in the Buffalo City Metro (BCM) in the province when the alleged fraud was committed. Millions of rands were allegedly siphoned from the municipal coffers under the guise of being used for the Mandela memorial and funeral services.
An Special Investigating Unit (SIU) report which singled out Gomba for wrongdoing in the R100 million controversial motorbike procurement also influenced Mabuyane’s decision to fire her.
