The Post Elections Political Drama and the immediate threat to the peace and security of Ghana evoke searching questions on how the ruling party managed the people s goodwill obtained in 2016. The New Patriotic Party s (NPP s) plummeting performance at the 2020 Elections calls for introspection by Party Loyalists and Leaders at all levels. Not only that but also many NPP faithful s believed history was on the side of their Party since they defeated the National Democratic Party (NDC) with good margins in both the parliamentary and presidential elections in 2016. Most MPs become miserable barely 4 months after losing elections – Outgoing MP
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Ben Abdallah Banda, has disclosed why some Members of Parliament become miserable after losing power.
The MP for Offinso South said some of his colleagues borrow so much for spending and so when they leave Parliament with nothing in their hands, they end up becoming miserable.
Mr. Abdella Banda shared this revelation in an interview on Onua TV‘s 100 Degrees hosted by Kwame Tutu on Monday, December 14 while he was speaking on the supposed hung Parliament facing the eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
