His self-aggrandizement was phenomenal as he was only concerned about his comfort and position, and cared less about the welfare of the people.
King Herod, also known as ‘Herod the Great’ was a Roman client King of Judea in Israel, who reigned between 37-4 BCE.
Jewish historians and religious theologians say King Herod ordered the massacre of the innocent children during the time of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Apostle Opoku Onyinah, delivering the sermon at Parliamentary End of Term Thanksgiving Service/Festival of Nine Carols, at the weekend, said politicians should not concern themselves with benefits their positions would bring to them, but work towards ensuring the welfare of every citizen.

NPP Members of Parliament arrived in Parliament early today Friday, 15 January 2021 to occupy the Majority side ahead of the resumption of the house.
Some of the NPP MPs revealed on social media, that, they arrived as early as 4 am.
Member of Parliament of Kwasimintsim Constituency in the Western Region on his Facebook page @Prince Hamid Armah wrote “ as early as 2 am this morning, I joined my colleagues on the majority side of the eight Parliament of the Fourth Republic to take our rightful seats on the right side of Mr. Speaker”

The Graphic reports that Ghana will, from today, witness the adjudication of the presidential election petition to determine whether or not President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the validly elected President of the Republic.
It is challenging the declaration of President Akufo-Addo as the winner of the 2020 presidential election and is the second presidential election petition in the history of the country, after the first one in 2012.

The National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) has called on the Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, to lead the process for collaboration and consensus building among members of Parliament (MPs) to enhance the business of the House.
While condemning the chaotic scenes which characterised the election of the Speaker for the eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic last week, the association stressed the need for MPs to “bury their partisan differences” and work together in the interest of the nation.

Addressing the media at a press conference in Accra yesterday, the President of NALAG, Mr. Bismark Baisie Nkum, said the nature of the current Parliament, with neither political party having a commanding majority, called for more collaboration and concensus building.
The Nubalanaang Youth Group of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the achievement of Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, brings a lot of inspiration to them the youth.
The Youth Group in the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency of the Upper West Region said Mr Bagbin’s achievement as a rural boy had not only emboldened them, but also every Ghanaian youth to strive for excellence no matter where they came from in the country.
