KOTA KINABALU, March 17 A Sabah leader today blamed excessive politicking for the lack of development in Sabah and called on the state leaders and people to focus on developing the state for the people’s prosperity.
Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, a deputy chief minister, said 14 elections have been held at the federal level and 11 in Sarawak but 16 in Sabah and added that much time has been wasted on elections at the expense of development.

PUTRAJAYA, March 11 Various initiatives and agenda have been planned by the Agriculture and Food Industries Ministry (Maf) throughout the year to boost the industry and ensure the survival of industry players including farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen.
Its minister Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee said this included getting Agrobank to spearhead efforts to introduce farming or agrofood insurance protection schemes to the target groups nationwide.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 Malaysia is committed to addressing child marriage as part of efforts to meet at least eight of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) relating to poverty, food security and health, said Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun.
She said Malaysia’s commitment to the SDG Goal 5 (Achieve Gender Equality and Empower All Women and Girls) refers to eliminating all harmful practices, including a child, early and forced marriage.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 Arau member of Parliament Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim has been appointed as chairman of Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA), effective immediately.
In announcing the matter, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin said Shahidan’s five-term experience as an elected representative and his vast experience in governance were needed to boost PR1MA’s performance.
His experience as the Perlis menteri besar and minister in the prime minister’s department can help PR1MA to achieve its mission of providing affordable housing in the country, she said during a visit to the PR1MA headquarters here today.

Kuala Lumpur: Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Pakatan Harapan counterpart Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim issued separate statements that both demanded the restoration of Parliament.
Both insisted that this must be done given that Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has unequivocally decreed that the federal legislature can convene notwithstanding the current Emergency.
