JUSUN apologises to Ngige for unfriendly labour conduct On By Johnbosco Agbakwuru, Abuja The striking Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, has tendered an unreserved apology to the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige over the alleged ‘unfriendly’ labour approach it adopted at the April 20, 2021 conciliation meeting. The apology according to a statement issued by the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations of the ministry, Mr Charles Akpan was contained in a letter to the Minister, dated April 26, 2021, and signed by JUSUN General Secretary, I. M. Adetola The union urged Ngige to continue with the conciliation geared towards the amicable resolution of the strike.

Punch Newspapers Sections Published 26 April 2021 The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria has vowed to continue with its ongoing strike until its demands are met and a Memorandum of Understanding signed by all the governors and speakers of the 36 states of the federation. The union presented five conditions that must be met before it would call off the industrial action which began on March 23. Legislative activities in state assemblies have been paralysed since the workers downed tools over the failure to grant financial autonomy to state legislature. The union said this in a position paper addressed to the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, dated April 20, 2021, and titled, ‘Position paper on the full implementation of financial autonomy presented by Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria.’
