PARKERSBURG Wood County Magistrate Court released the following reports Feb. 2: Travis Wayne Chichester, 29, 1229 22nd St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of burglary and grand larceny and was released on a $8,000 surety bond. Joannie Lynn Davis, 55, 916 14th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a battery charge and was released on a $500 surety bond. Ronnie Lee Lockhart, 50, 1009 Broadway Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of battery and possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and was released on a $3,000 surety bond. Anthony Bruce Wade, 18, 104 Grady Drive, Walker, was arraigned on charges of improper disposal and mandatory proof of disposal and was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

VIENNA Two firefighters with the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department received awards for their outstanding service to their community.
“We believe this pat on the back of these individuals shows how dedicated they are,” said Vienna Fire Chief Steve Scholl. “…Both are very deserving individuals.”
The awards are chosen by a committee that consists of three chief officers, the former year recipient of the Firefighter of the Year award and this year the addition of the individual who came up with the idea for the new award.

PARKERSBURG The Parkersburg Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying the person in this ATM surveillance camera photo. The person is wanted for questioning in a case involving the fraudulent use of an access device. Anyone with knowledge of the person is asked to contact Detective Brown at 304 424-1070, private message the police department on its Facebook page or anonymously report it at pkbpolice.com.

UP: To the idea of a Parkersburg Police Department internship program, which, if approved by City Council, would create four positions in which candidates could receive training if they have passed the written and agility tests for the department, but might not yet be ready to go to the academy and fully join the department. “We look at this as another tool toward recruiting the best police force we possibly can,” Mayor Tom Joyce said. Should all the details work for council, it sounds as though it will be a good one.
