From Stow, Ohio to Columbus, Indiana, and Scranton, Pennsylvania, employees of Mactac closed out the challenging 2020 year by giving back to local communities. In the final weeks of 2020, employees at Mactac’s Stow location provided eight area families in need with clothes, toys, grocery and gas cards, diapers, and more. The donation effort was part of Akron Children’s Hospital’s ‘Adopt A Family’ program. Mactac partnered with the hospital to identify families within the Stow and Cuyahoga Falls city limits who were in need of assistance and facing unthinkable hardships, such as a child with a complex illness, or a child facing a shortened life expectancy, needing increased hospital stays, home care services, etc.

Columbus SWAT Team helps arrest wanted man

Courtesy of CPD COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Police Department (CPD) SWAT members, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Violent Crimes Unit, the Indiana Department of Corrections, and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office arrested a wanted man for a weapons violation parole warrant in Bartholomew County on Thursday. CPD SWAT went to a house in the 12800 block of West County Road 525S to serve and Indiana Parole Warrant at 2:30 p.m. Officers say the wanted man, Jimmy Jones, 46, was taken into custody without incident. Jones was on parole for weapons charges and attempted murder for the 1993 shooting of an Indianapolis Police Department officer.

Greg Pence honored him by reading a statement on the floor of Congress. Rep. Pence paid a visit to the sheriff’s office on Wednesday to present a copy of the Congressional Record to Diesel’s handler, deputy Matt Bush. “Deputy Bush and I are honored by Congressman Pence’s actions. Taking time to stop by and present this is truly humbling,” said Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers.  

Saturday night car accident fatal to Columbus woman

Courtesy-Sheriff Myers TAYLORSVILLE, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) and German Township Volunteer Fire Department (GTVFD) responded to a fatal, single-vehicle crash near Taylorsville, on North County Road 280W at Fawn Court, on Saturday at around 10:20 p.m. After arriving, deputies found Matthew Hunstable, 29, of Clifford, outside the car, and Ashley Cox, 24, of Columbus, trapped inside. GTVFD removed the female from the car. Both were taken to Columbus Regional Health. Cox was later moved to IU Methodist Hospital where she died.
