BARNSTABLE Sitting in Barnstable District Court on Monday, Jordan Maddox watched his friend, Leslie J. Ostapchuk, plead not guilty to firearms and weapons charges.
Ostapchuk, 30, and Robert J. Perry, 29, both of Hyannis, were arraigned on charges of trafficking between 36-100 grams of fentanyl, trafficking 18-36 grams of cocaine, conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act, possession of a firearm without a license to carry, possession of ammunition and possession of a large capacity feeding device.
Ostapchuk was also charged with possessing a Class B drug, and Perry was charged with a firearm violation with two prior violent/drug crimes, according to a criminal complaint filed in Barnstable District Court. Perry pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment.

A man is being charged in connection to an attempted convenience store robbery in Hyannis.
A suspect reportedly went into the A.J. Mart store on Main Street on Tuesday night, ripped the plastic barrier in front of the cash register, and demanded money.
Police say the store owner confronted the suspect and was assaulted by him after chasing him outside.
Ryan Dubee of Sandwich was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Thursday on charges including attempting to commit an unarmed robbery.

Dale Peckham was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Tuesday for trafficking fentanyl.
Police reportedly executed a search warrant at a residence on Monday and found about 65 grams of a substance that tested positive for the powerful drug.
The arrest was the result of a three-month investigation by Barnstable and Yarmouth detective, as well as the DEA.
