The Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) is awaiting the outcome of a meeting between Minister of Labour Colin Jordan and management of Preconco Ltd to determine the next step the union would take in the labour issue that developed at the company yesterday.
BWU General Secretary Toni Moore visited the workers outside the Lears Road, Jackmans, St Michael company this morning to discuss the situation.
Moore said the issue was no longer a Preconco workers’ problem but an infringement of trade union laws, making it a legal and national workers’ issue.
She said the situation should not have to develop into a demonstration but she was prepared to rally the members of the union if need be.
