SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - A 71-year-old hiker was rescued from San Ysidro Trail Sunday after becoming distressed from the heat.
Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue responded to the woman around 12 p.m. along with Montecito Fire and AMR.
Crews said they located the hiker about half a mile down from the top of East Camino Cielo. The hiker told responders she had become distressed in the heat and was unable to continue hiking.
Montecito Fire sent teams from the trailhead while Search and Rescue responded from the top down. After a 20-minute hike the first Search and Rescue team reportedly found the hiker and began giving her electrolytes, water and shade.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue carried two injured hikers back to safety from Hot Springs Canyon Trail Saturday during separate incidents.
The first occurred around 11:30 a.m. Crews with Montecito Fire and AMR as well as Sheriff s helicopter 3 responded to reports of a hiker who fell while on the trail.
The hiker was found 15 minutes down the trail suffering from a wound to the head. Fire paramedics immediately began providing medical aid and determined the hiker could be carried to an ambulance by ground personnel. Copter 3 was then released from the scene.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue (SBCSAR) teams followed a breadcrumb trail of footprints to locate a man who went missing near Mission Creek Saturday night.
Crews said the 27-year-old man had been hiking with his girlfriend at Botanic Gardens that afternoon when they became separated around 3:30 p.m. near the redwood grove.
After searching for her boyfriend unsuccessfully, the man s girlfriend returned home, hoping he would be there. When he wasn t, she contacted the sheriff s office for help and returned to the creek area to continue searching for her boyfriend.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue responded to two separate calls for help on Rattlesnake Canyon Trail Saturday.
The first call came in at 9:15 a.m. Search and Rescue crews, along with SB County Fire and AMR, responded to a page for help and located a hiker suffering from a knee injury about one mile up the trail.
Fortunately, the teams were able to secure the person in a litter basket stretcher and transport them down the trail so they could safely receive treatment.
