ULCCS hailed for completing Palarivattom project in record time
With Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society (ULCCS) completing the rebuilding and strengthening work of the Palarivattom flyover, the structure will be handed over to Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala (RBDCK) on Friday or Saturday, E. Sreedharan, principal advisor to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has said. He inspected the four-lane structure on Thursday.

Traffic condition worsens in northern areas of Kochi
The worsening traffic congestion in the city’s densely-populated northern and north-western areas has intensified the demand to construct the long-overdue Vaduthala overbridge and the ring road, yet another pending project.
Residents have for long been holding that an overbridge at Vaduthala is required to temporarily ease congestion, and that the Pachalam overbridge, which was built as part of the Kochi metro’s preparatory work, alone is not enough. The Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala (RBDCK) had readied a project report for an overbridge here, apart from similar structures at Vathuruthy and Atlantis.

Directive to issue tender for approach road work on February 2 Close on the heels of the steps to expedite track doubling and renovation of the Kottayam railway station, a delegation of Southern Railway officials and Thomas Chazhikadan, MP, on Wednesday reviewed the progress of work on the railway overbridges (RoB) coming up in Kottayam.
During the meeting, Railways informed that work on the RoB at Mulanthuruthy had been completed as early as 2018 while work on the bridge at Carithas was on the final stages. The authorities are now awaiting nod from the Railway Safety Commissioner to carry out the remaining work on these two RoBs.

Mayor M. Anil Kumar was elated at the fact that key road and allied infrastructure projects submitted by the Kochi Corporation, including the one to hew out an elevated corridor parallel to Pandit Karuppan Road, found mention in Friday’s State Budget.
