Kota Kinabalu: A 31-year-old was jailed eight years and two strokes of the cane for physical sexual harassment against a nine-year-old girl.
Roger Gamilus changed his plea and pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Ummu Khaltom Abdul Samad, to the charge against him during the continuation of his trial.
He committed the offence by touching the minor’s private part at 9pm on July 26, 2019 in a house in a village in Kundasang, Ranau.

The offence under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 provides for a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.

KUALA LUMPUR, April 21 ― Three women s groups pressed the Education Ministry and Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) today for investigation panels into online allegations of sexual abuse and harassment by their teachers on their students.
The three were the All Women’s Action Society (AWAM), Sisters In Islam (SIS) and Pertubuhan Pembangunan Kendiri Wanita dan Gadis (WOMEN:girls).

Kota Kinabalu: A 21-year-old man was jailed seven years for committing sexual abuse against a nine-year-old boy.
Alias Azrin Alias Rahmad pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz to the charge against him, Wednesday.
He committed the offence by kissing the boy at 10am on Nov 18, 2020 inside the toilet of a house in Kg Melulugus, Beaufort.

The offence under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 provides for a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, upon conviction.
Before sentencing, the court asked Alias whether he needed the social report as his age was 20 during the incident. But he said he did not want the report and ask the court to proceed with the sentencing.

Kota Kinabalu: A 30-year-old man was ordered to enter his defence on two counts of committing sexual offences against his daughter.
Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus made the order for the man after ruling that the prosecution had established prima facie case against the man.
The court set May 5 this year for the man’s defence.

On the first count, the man is accused of raping the nine-year-old girl at 4.30pm on Nov 22, 2019 inside a car in Kota Marudu and Inanam.
The offence under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code provides for a jail term of between eight and 30 years, and whipping at least ten strokes of the cane, on conviction.
JOHOR BARU: A senior citizen has claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to two charges of molesting his eight-year-old granddaughter.
The 74-year-old man pleaded not guilty in front of Sessions Judge Wan Mohd Norisham Wan Yaakob after the two charges were read out to him in Mandarin here on Sunday (April 11).
Based on the charge sheet, the unemployed man allegedly committed the offence at a house along Jalan Bukit Impian in Taman Impian Emas near Skudai at around 6pm on March 6.
In the first charge, the accused was charged with molesting the victim by making the child touch herself, an offence under Section 14(c) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act.
